In 2022, Joerik Michiels had the honor of serving as Camp Director for the Nike Freakology Experience, a multi-city basketball tour in collaboration with Sportizon and Nike Basketball. The camps took place in Paris, Milan, and Berlin, offering young talents an exclusive opportunity to learn directly from the legendary Giannis Antetokounmpo—the NBA MVP known as the Greek Freak.

This two-day experience, inspired by Giannis’ unique playing style, was all about breaking down the techniques that make Giannis one of the best in the game. Through Giannis’ signature moves and breakdown videos, we showed players exactly how to replicate his incredible skills on the court. The camps were run by our Elite Athletes coaches, with a focus on dedication, study, and the joy of the game.

The young players had the chance to wear the brand-new Nike Zoom Freak 4 sneakers, just like Giannis himself. Throughout the weekend, participants learned key techniques, practiced Giannis’ signature moves, and even received a special surprise—tickets to the Eurobasket game between Italy and Greece.

In parallel with the camp, Airdom and SBB_UK organized another initiative that brought the social media community together for some friendly competition. Participants competed on three playgrounds in Milan, winning special prizes in celebration of the Zoom Freak 4 launch.

The Nike Freakology Tour was not just about basketball skills; it was about learning, growth, and community—teaching the next generation how to think and play like one of the greatest.
